Bivy in the middle of the descentWe had to bivy in the middle of the descent, on a small grassy patch glued to the rock with ?? and some tree roots. Hj Ruslan and Hj Ramli are seen here, trying to cheer us up and keep warm.	Strangler at treeStrangler plant: Those plants seeds nest in the upper regions of the tree, they then find a way to stretch their branches down to touch soil, and "strangle" the tree taking away nutrition.Later, the real tree dies.	Approach to Batu LawiThis pic shows the rigde we chose to get to the feet of Batu Lawi. Expedition was a short and simple affair: we needed 3 days to walk in, 1 day for a scout of the route and 1 day to go up to the summit. All expediton took 14 days or so. We have seen some pretty amazing lianas, used by a previous summiter (probably Bruno Manser) for abseiling 20m+ over flat rockfaces.Sep 13, 2007
