The tour can start directly from
Coyhaique,
or from the regional airport of
Balmaceda. When on
a half or day trip, we will provide - besides the obvious
transports to the starting points and from the end points of the
horserides - packed lunch boxes, if requested. If you are
riding for two or more days with us, we will , depending on the tour
and the availability, sleep in tents and or in small hostals. Transport
of some of or all of theequipment and provisions is done by
one or two pack horses, or by a 4WD truck or both, as
dictates the terrain and the requirements. If you dont have previous
experiences with horses, or want to try it out, you can choose
our one or half day rides, if you go for a couple of days
horseriding with us, you should ideally bring some expedriences in how
to handle horses and how to ride them with you. We can provide helmets,
if requested by you some time prior to the trips (booking). The horses
are very tame, and usually will move in a very patient way.
The style they are trained is comparable with Western style. Saddles
are very comfortable and have a big cover made mostly from a soft
sheepfur. You can get some protective gaiters for your feet, made from
the same materials, if you want.
Please bring boots and wind and rainproof clothing and a hat. It would
be good if your clothinng has less bright colours, and if it would be
of a natural material, so it doe not make so much noise when moving.
Boots should cover the whole foot and should have no items attached
which could get caught with sth.
If you plan a multiday horseride trip, please tell us and book early
(check the Terms & Conditions for what that means), at the best
two months or longer before the trip. Otherwise it might be difficult
to guarantee availability of horses and guides. We can offer
itineraries over 2, 3, 5 or 7 days length, the horseriders will see
lush forests mostly of Southern Beech, the dryer pampa like high
valleys, and maybe choose a route which goes by the shoreline of
Lago General Carrera.
Prices: they depend on the planned length of the trip the
amount of participants and the time of the year. We work with as little
as two participants upto 8 (maximum 10) persons on day trips, and for
multidaytrips there is a minimum of three persons and a maximum of six
persons which can join a trip. Exceptions need special negotiations.
If you are travelling alone, you can choose to write a small article in our
Forum, describing when and for how long you want to come to do horseriding, and with good hopes you shall encounter companions through the Forum. The Forum is a free Service of ColibriVentura, but you would need to register yourself within our WebSite, since only registered members can write articles into the Forum
Bigger groups please also tell us your wishes well ahead so we can make
a quotation.
