Fagaras Mountain range crossing, Bucegi-Mountains

1988 September - Romania

Fagaras Mountains Traverse of the Fagaras mountain range and climbings in the Bucegi Mountains. Six team member of the caving club Freiberg ( Höhlen- und Kartsforschungsgruppe Freiberg)
The group of cave explorers from the Technical University BA Freiberg went to see caves in the Bihor Mountains first for some weeks. Unfortunately, Olaf could not participate in this part of the 1988 Romania trip due to his commitments to another expedition, which explored the Wielka Sniezna cave in the Polish Wastern Tatra Mountains.

However, he was able to join the group when they were heading for the Fagaras mountains. Here, they successfully climbed up to the main ridge, and walked on top of that ridge for a week. So they could cross most of the Fagaras main mountain Ridge.

Later, they had a fun time in the Bucegi Mountains, hiking and enjoying the summer.
