Jammie spent her early years in the XI Region of Aysén before moving to Santiago where she went to school and then trained as a secretary before attending the
Universidad Tecnologica Metropolitana in Santiago where she studied surveying (Geomensura).
Jammie is passionate about
flyfishing so when she finished her studies she decided to have an extended fly-fishing holiday in this spectacular area of Patagonia with it’s crystal clear rivers and lakes and, just as important to her, filled with trout and salmon.
Jammie was fascinated with the unspoilt landscape and freedom that was still to be experienced here so she decided to move to Patagonia permanently. For the next few years she worked as a surveyor on the Carretera Austral (Austral Highway) helping the region to improve it’s transport infrastructure, in October 2004 she met Olaf………..but this is another story.
Jammie is always interested in discovering more about Patagonia and the XI Region of Aysen, she knows lots of places that are very special and rarely visited. Jammie prefers her sea kayak to a boat with an outboard engine, however she is very comfortable working with the newest DPGS (surveying equipment) technology, driving a 4 x 4 truck both on and off road or even setting up high frequency antennas for radio communications.
Jammie is simply indispensable, come fly-fishing in Patagonia with her – what a joy!
