The
Family Villagran's
lifestyle is sustained mainly because of their cattle farming and
because of a sustainable forestry. They take care from dusk till dawn
about their many cattle, horses, goats, turkeys, geese, chicken etc...
Mrs Adelaida has gained a very reputable place amongst the members of
the small settlement at Levican much because she is constantly working
hard in various project groups to achieve the best for her family and
the people of Levican. She spins, dyes, weaves or knits wonderfully
utile Ponchos, travel bags and other clothing, mostly for her sons.
Since she was born she is living in Levican, her father, the so called
Rey of Levican
settled here many years ago. Because of the eruption of volcano Hudson
in 1991, almost all the families land was coverd with a feet thick
layer of vulcanic ash. The family fled those conditions to an
unaffected area of the region, but when they finally returned, they had
to start all over again. As for now many hectars of their lands have
been reforestated and so we will have a green forest in the future
there.
Guido and Elian are the pillars of their mother, they take care of the
herds of cattle and the forestry. Both of them are expert horsemen and
true Gauchos. They have quite a lot of experience under their belts,
when it comes to cattle and sheep management, since they lived and
worked long years in the USA.
