| 1 | We await and greet you at the regional airport in Balmaceda, we will drive direction Cerro Castillo, where we will relax after the long flight in a simple but clean hostal. | Hostal | PL,D | ||
| 2 | Today we need to get up and rolling early (8 o'clockish) onto a gravel road direction South, on our way we will see the Rio Ibaņez, Rio Murta and will zoom along the steep shorelines of the blue coloured General Carrera lake. Close after we pass the sleepy little village of Pto. Rio Tranquilo, we will check (depending on weather and timeplan) if we can visit the famous marble caverns by boat. Is the weather bad, or we are out of time, we do have a second chance for visiting at our retour trip. After we have had our packed lunch, we continue on that rocky gravel road, and soon will see the Rio Baker with its fantastically blue colored waters for a first time. Around late afternoon we reach the small pioneer town of Cochrane, and will continue almost without stops another 50 km to the South, until we reach the Rio Barrancos, before the bridge spanning this river we will turn right, following a small road for about ten Kilometers before we reach the Refugio Los Ņadis. Lilli and Rosendo, our hosts over there, will shurely await us. At the place, you can camp closeby or a bit further away from the refugio, or you can use the refugios dormitory for a good nights sleep(look at Service Partners- Refugio Los Ņadis) | Refugio/ Tent |

| 3 | After the strenous drive of yesterday we can sleep a bit longer and take it easy today. We will get to know the whereabouts of everything close to the refugio, and continue with a small hike up a mountain nearby. We don't need to reach the summit(1300 height meters), but will hopefully get a good overview around, weather permitting. On the other side of the valley, crossing the grande Rio Baker, some nice mountain trekking and also climbing summits will come to our attention. Together we will discuss and decide, which are our targets for the following days. If we move over to the other side of river baker and put up an advanced Basecamp there, or if we stay on our side of the river, group and conditions will decide about those matters. Coming back from our little reckie trip, we can prepare (if so) the equipment and ourselves for the advancing of the basecamp. | Refugio/ Tent |
